Here's some of our family highlights from 2011 -
January - Chris moved to Belgium while the rest of us prepared to go.
February - Family moved to Belgium. Mikayla started pre-school at the International School of Brussels (ISB). First trip to the Netherlands. Visited the zoo in Antwerp. Visited Bastogne and Dinant.

March - Visited Villers Abbey near Waterloo. Lots of colds for the kids.
April - Easter program at church here. Mom and Dad Roosien visited. Toured some of the Netherlands, Germany, and Austria. Beautiful weather!

May - Visited Brugge. Mom and Dad Broene visited. Toured local castles, the Netherlands, Bastogne, and Dinant. Beautiful weather continued!

June - Celebrated Cayden's first birthday - in Paris! Attended a festival in Brussels. Put up a pool. Chris went to Dubai for work.

July - Cold weather! Toured London. Princess playdates and more with friends to keep the kids busy.

August - Visited Prague. Returned back to the US for a busy visit including two weddings!

September - September was a big month for us with lots of "firsts"! Mikayla's first day of Kindergarten (technically Aug. 31st). Keegan's first day of nursery school. Keegan's 3rd birthday, but his first here. He celebrated with a special lunch with a close friend from school and dinner with another family of friends. Mikayla lost her first tooth, quickly followed by her second! Mikayla had her 5th birthday here, again, her first here and had a princess birthday party. She also had a "special dinner" with a family of friends. AND Mikayla had her first dance lesson. We also visited a large outdoor zoo and park, called Plankendael.

October - Chris went to China for work. We toured the Normandy area in France, including the beaches and Mont St. Michel (abbey) as a family. Grandpa Bomhof passed away. Sick kids again most of the month. Jenny and Brian came out for a visit.

November - Amazing visit to Rome and Pompeii. Beautiful "Thanksgiving Dinner" with friends.

December - German Christmas Market and tour of a decorated French chateau. Light show in the Grand Platz, Brussels. Christmas programs, dance programs, Christmas parties, and various cultural celebrations here. Returned to the US for busy weeks of celebrating and spreading colds and flus!
